Choosing a Battery

Should I choose a standard battery or request a custom pack?

Choose a standard battery only when its voltage, capacity, continuous-current rating, dimensions and connectors match your equipment. If any requirement is different or uncertain, use the custom quote form so the complete application can be reviewed.

What specifications should I check before selecting a battery?
  • Nominal and fully charged voltage
  • Required capacity or desired operating time
  • Continuous and peak current required by the equipment
  • Maximum physical dimensions and mounting space
  • Charge and discharge connector types
  • Charger voltage, chemistry and connector compatibility
  • Indoor, outdoor, mobile, marine or other operating conditions
What is the difference between lithium-ion and LiFePO4?

They are different lithium-battery chemistries with different cell voltages, charging requirements, weight, energy density and cycle-life characteristics. The correct choice depends on the application. Never substitute one chemistry for another without confirming that the pack, charger and equipment are compatible.

Custom Battery Quotes

What information should I include in a custom quote?

Include your application, target voltage and capacity, continuous and peak current, charge current, maximum dimensions, preferred enclosure, operating environment, connectors and any existing charger information. Photos, labels and equipment model numbers can also help prevent a compatibility mistake.

Does submitting a custom quote create an order?

No. Submitting the quote form does not create an order or authorize payment. The request is reviewed before pricing, specifications and the next steps are confirmed.

How long does a custom battery take to build?

The timeline depends on the design, component availability, testing requirements and current workload. Any estimate shown on a product page or provided with your quote is an estimate until the order details and build schedule are confirmed.

Ordering and Payment

What happens when I submit the checkout form?

The checkout form submits an order request. Michigan Lithium Packs reviews compatibility, shipping, availability and final specifications before fulfillment. Shipping and payment instructions are confirmed separately after that review.

Does the website collect my payment information?

No. The website does not ask for, collect, process or store payment-card or bank-account information. Payment instructions are provided separately after the order request is reviewed. See the Privacy Policy for more information.

Is the subtotal shown in my cart the final total?

It is an estimated subtotal for the selected products. Shipping and any changes required after the compatibility review are confirmed before fulfillment.

Order Status, Changes and Returns

How do I track my battery order?

Open Track Your Order and enter the order number and email address used for the order. Use the exact email address from your order confirmation.

Can I change or cancel an order?

Contact Michigan Lithium Packs as soon as possible using the contact information in your order confirmation. Whether a request can be changed or cancelled depends on the order's current stage and whether parts or custom work have already been committed.

What should I do if an order arrives damaged or incorrect?

Do not install, charge or use a battery that appears damaged or does not match the confirmed order. Keep the product and packaging, photograph the condition and shipping label, and report the issue promptly using the contact information in your order confirmation.

Can I return a battery pack?

Return eligibility depends on the pack, whether it was customized, its condition and the reason for the request. Do not ship a lithium battery back without receiving return and shipping instructions first. Use the contact information in your order confirmation to request a review.

Charging, Use and Safety

Can I use a charger I already own?

Only after confirming that the charger's output voltage, current, chemistry, charge profile, polarity and connector are correct for the battery. A connector that physically fits does not prove compatibility. Using an incompatible charger can cause serious damage, fire or injury.

What does the battery management system do?

A battery management system, or BMS, monitors the pack and provides application-matched electrical protections. It does not make an incompatible charger, overloaded system, damaged pack or unsafe use safe. Always remain within the confirmed battery and equipment specifications.

What should I do if the battery will not charge or power my equipment?

Stop and verify the equipment is switched off, then check only the normal external connections, charger indicators and instructions supplied with the order. Do not open the enclosure, bypass the BMS, short terminals or probe internal components. Use the order-confirmation contact information for troubleshooting help.

What should I do if a battery appears damaged, swollen or unusually hot?

Stop using and charging it. Do not puncture, crush, open or attempt to repair the pack. Keep people away from the area and call emergency services if there is smoke, fire or an immediate danger. Once the area is safe, report the issue using the contact information in your order confirmation.

Still Need Help?

For an existing order, use the contact information in your order confirmation and include your order number. For a new or unusual application, send the specifications through the custom quote form.
